Assess transition risks with AI screening

Screen transitional climate risks across policy & legal, technology, market and reputation with AI support, and apply the suggestions as IRO entries in your climate DMA.

Last updated:

The screening identifies transitional climate risks along the four TCFD categories policy & legal, technology, market and reputation with AI support, and applies the results as IRO entries in your climate DMA. It is based on your team’s NACE codes and emissions data.

Prerequisites

  • An AI provider is configured under “Settings > Integrations”. Without AI integration, the start button is not available in the dialog.
  • At least one “NACE code” is stored for the organization. If it is missing, the red notice “No NACE codes — required for AI screening” appears and the start button stays disabled.
  • The climate DMA assessment is in “Draft” status and you have edit permission.

Step by step

  1. Open the “Climate DMA” page and scroll to the “Risks and Opportunities” section.
  2. Open the “Add Risk or Opportunity” dropdown button and select “AI Transition Risk Screening”. The dialog of the same name opens on the right.
  3. In the “Coverage of TCFD transition risk categories” section, review the four cards “Policy & Legal”, “Technology”, “Market” and “Reputation”. Each card shows the number of entries already recorded and the status “Not assessed” or “Covered”.
  4. Click the “AI Transition Risk Screening” button.
  5. Confirm the “Run AI Transition Risk Screening?” prompt with “Run Screening”. During the run, the loading animation “Screening industry profile for transition climate risks..” appears.

Review and apply suggestions

After the run — or later via “Review Suggestions” — the “AI-Recommended Transition Risks” dialog opens.

  1. Read each suggestion as a card with its description and the markers for category, “Confidence”, probability and time horizon.
  2. Apply a suitable suggestion with “Accept”. If you want to adjust the wording or the rating first, use “Change” before applying it.
  3. Use “Accept All High Confidence Suggestions” if you want to apply every high-confidence suggestion at once.

What happens next

  • Accepted suggestions are created as IRO entries in the “Risks and Opportunities” table, and the category coverage in the dialog is updated.
  • The run appears in the “Previous Screening Runs” section with the columns “Date”, “Suggestions”, “Accepted”, “Rejected”, “Status” and “Actions”.
  • If the result is not sufficient, record the missing risks via “Add manually”.

Practical tip: after the screening, check the category cards once more. The goal is for all four TCFD categories to carry the status “Covered” — categories without an entry indicate gaps in the risk inventory that auditors regularly question.
