Add impacts from the checklist – climate DMA under ESRS E1

Instead of creating every climate impact by hand, you transfer several entries from the supplied standard catalog in a single operation. It is the fastest way into the double materiality assessment (DMA) and covers the typical impact pathways of ESRS E1.

Prerequisites

• An active reporting period with a locked CSRD reporting boundary exists.
• The DMA assessment is in “Draft” status.
• You have the right to create climate impacts.

Step by step

1. Open the “Climate Double Materiality Assessment” page via the “Climate → Climate DMA” menu and scroll to the “Climate impacts” section.
2. Open the “+ Add impacts” button at the top right and select “Add from checklist”. The side dialog “Add impacts from the checklist” opens on the right.
3. Narrow down the suggestions in the “Filter criteria” section: “Subtopic” restricts the list to one of the three ESRS E1 subtopic areas, “Impact type” to a specific type – for example an actual negative impact. The list is rebuilt immediately after each selection change.
4. In the suggestion list, grouped by subtopic area, use the selection boxes to mark every entry that is relevant for your company. Each entry shows the description of the impact and a colored marker with the impact type.
5. Entries carrying the gray marker “Already added” are already part of the DMA assessment and cannot be selected again, so duplicates are ruled out.
6. Click “Add N selected impacts” at the bottom right. The label counts the marked entries live; with no selection the button is disabled. “Cancel” closes the dialog without changes.

What happens next

• All selected entries appear immediately as new climate impacts in the “Climate impacts” table.
• The “Assessment status” section updates automatically – in particular the metrics “Total: N impacts” and “Covered subtopic areas: N of 3”.
• The transferred impacts are still created without a materiality determination and count under “Not yet scored”. Record the assessment for each entry afterwards on its detail page.
• The operation is logged in the activity history.

Practical tip: populate the DMA assessment in two passes. First transfer all checklist entries that are obviously relevant to your business model, and only then add company-specific impacts via “Add manually”. If a filter combination returns no results, the message “No checklist entries match your filters.” appears – reset the filters in that case instead of creating the entry manually.
