The message channel in the protected area of your report lets you answer follow-up questions from the reporting office and supply additional information — anonymously and encrypted. This article shows how to compose a message, optionally attach files, and tell the reporting office’s replies apart in the history.

Prerequisites

  • You have logged in with your “Report ID” and your “Password” and are on the detail page of your report.
  • Your report is not locked.

Step by step

The input area is located below the message history on the detail page of your report.

  1. Click in the text field “Add a message to this report.”
  2. Enter your reply.
  3. Optional: Click “Upload files” or drag files into the area with the mouse to add attachments.
  4. Click “Save” to send the message.

Your message appears immediately in the history with a purple icon, and the reporting office is informed that it has arrived.

Telling messages apart in the history

  • Messages from the reporting office appear with a blue icon and the designation “Reporting office”.
  • Automatic status notifications appear with a cyan icon and the designation “System”.
  • You can only see public messages and your own messages. Internal notes from the reporting office are not visible to you.

File attachments

Attachments are listed below the message text under the heading “File attachments”. Click “Download” to download a file. For your own uploads, please note:

  • Permitted formats: PDF, DOCX, DOC, ODT, XLSX, XLS, ODS, PPTX, PPT, ODP, ACCDB, MDB, TXT, LOG, XML, PNG, JPG, GIF, SVG, MP3, WMA, MP4, MOV, AVI, WMV, ZIP
  • Maximum total size per message: 20 MB

Practical tip: If you have enabled notifications, you will receive an email as soon as the reporting office replies.
