Validate Energy Consumption Anomalies

How to review and resolve flagged energy data records in preeco | nachhaltigkeit: open the anomaly, confirm, correct, escalate or dismiss the value and document the resolution with a justification.

Last updated:

After a bulk import, the application checks the imported energy data for irregularities in the background. On the “Validation of Anomalies” page you review each flagged data record and resolve it with a documented justification – keeping the data basis for ESRS E1 reporting reliable.

Prerequisites

  • Energy data records have been entered and at least one record was flagged by the anomaly detection.
  • You are signed in to your team and are allowed to edit energy data.
  • The page is currently not accessible via the left-hand menu or a button. You open it via the address bar by appending /anomalies to the address of the energy consumption page.

Page and structure

  • The breadcrumb path is “Dashboard > Climate > Energy Consumption > Validation of Anomalies”.
  • At the top you see the three key figures “Total anomalies”, “Unresolved” and “Resolved”.
  • The “Anomalies” section has the “Unresolved” and “Resolved” tabs. In the “Unresolved” tab, each anomaly appears as a row with facility and energy type (for example Organisation level - Electricity), the “Anomaly” label, the period, the value and the “Resolve” button. If there are no open cases, the note “No unresolved anomalies found.” appears.

Step by step

  1. In the anomaly row, click “Resolve”. The “Resolve anomaly” dialog opens.
  2. In the “Entry details” section, check the “Facility”, “Energy type”, “Period” and “Value” of the flagged data record.
  3. Under “Resolution type”, select how the anomaly should be resolved: Confirmed (value confirmed), Corrected (value corrected), Escalated (escalated for clarification) or Dismissed (flag dismissed).
  4. When you select Corrected, the “Corrected value” field additionally appears. Enter the correct consumption value there.
  5. In the “Justification” mandatory field, enter a detailed justification for the resolution.
  6. Click “Submit resolution”. With “Cancel”, the anomaly remains open.

What happens next

  • The anomaly moves to the “Resolved” tab, where it is shown with the “Resolved” label and the stored justification.
  • The “Unresolved” and “Resolved” key figures are updated.
  • Corrected consumption values are included in the emissions calculation.

Practical tip: use Escalated only as an intermediate step and resolve escalated cases definitively before the period close – open anomalies undermine the reliability of the entire energy balance.
