Create a transformation plan
How to create a transformation plan under ESRS E1-1 in preeco | nachhaltigkeit: record the plan details and assessments, add the financial commitment, link climate targets, and then add levers, key actions and milestones.
A transformation plan documents how you adapt your business model to the climate protection targets: assessments, financial commitment, decarbonization levers, key actions and the timeline to your climate target. This is the disclosure requirement “E1-1 Transition plan for climate change mitigation” under ESRS E1-1.
Prerequisites
- At least one reporting period has been created for the team.
- At least one organization has been created.
- For linking climate targets: at least one climate target has been recorded.
Step by step
- In the left-hand menu, navigate to “Climate → Transition Plans”.
- In the “Transition Plans” section, click “Create transition plan” in the top right. The “Create transition plan” page opens.
- In the “Plan details” section, select the “Organization” and the “Reporting period” and enter the “Plan summary”. The asterisk button “Create draft with AI” on the right of the input field generates a draft text for the summary and the assessments.
- In the “Assessments” section, enter the “Paris alignment assessment”, the “Locked-in emissions assessment” and, optionally, the “Total locked-in emissions (tCO2e)”.
- In the “Methodology” section, select the “Methodology type” — “Asset level” or “Portfolio level”. If you select “Portfolio level”, the “Methodology notes” field appears as well.
- In the “Financial commitment” section, enter the “Currency” (pre-filled with
EUR), the “Committed capital expenditures” and, optionally, the “Committed operating expenditures”. - In the “Linked climate targets” section, optionally use the “Climate targets” field (“Select or search”) to link existing climate targets to the plan.
- Click “Create plan”. Use “Cancel” to discard your entries.
Add levers, actions and the timeline
You record the substantive depth afterwards on the plan detail page — open it by clicking the relevant row in the “Transition Plans” table.
- On the “Decarbonization Levers” tab, use “Add Lever” to create the reduction levers: “Lever Category” (such as “Energy Efficiency”, “Electrification” or “Renewable Energy”), “Description”, “Expected Reduction (tCO2e)”, “Start Year” and “End Year” as well as the “Implementation Status”. If climate targets are linked, assign the lever to them in the “Target Linking” section. Save with “Create Lever”.
- In the “Key Actions” section, use “Add Action” to record the key actions: “Action Name”, the related “Decarbonization Lever”, the “Responsible Party” as well as “Start” and “Planned Completion Date”. Save with “Create Action”.
- Set the timeline on the “Milestones” tab via “Add Milestone”: “Description”, “Milestone Year”, optionally “Target Value” and “Notes”, and the “Status” (“Planned”, “On Track”, “Achieved”, “Missed”). Save with “Create Milestone”.
Result
The new plan appears with the status “Draft” and the version “v1” in the “Transition Plans” table. In the “Name” column it is labelled with the reporting period and the organization, for example FY 2024 — CloudScale Solutions GmbH. While it is in draft status, you can complete, approve or delete the plan.
Practical tip
Keep the plan summary deliberately concise and move the substantive depth to the decarbonization levers and milestones on the detail page — there, the information can be evaluated in a structured way and feeds into E1 reporting.
