More security with 2FA (two-factor authentication)
How to set up two-factor authentication (2FA) in preeco | data protection to additionally secure your account.
Two-factor authentication (2FA) protects your access to preeco | data protection with a second security step in addition to the password. This makes unauthorized access considerably more difficult – even if your password should ever fall into the wrong hands.
Activating 2FA in the profile settings:
Open your profile settings by clicking on your name in the top right. Switch to the „Security" or „Two-factor authentication" area. Click on „Activate 2FA".
Connecting an authenticator app:
Scan the displayed QR code with an authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or a comparable app) on your smartphone. The app then generates a new one-time code every 30 seconds.
Confirming the setup:
Enter the current code from your authenticator app into the confirmation field and click on „Confirm". This completes the successful setup of 2FA.
Logging in with 2FA:
For every future login, you will be asked for the current code from your authenticator app in addition to your password. Enter it to log in.
Note: Should you lose your device or no longer have access to your authenticator app, please contact preeco support (support@preeco.de) so that 2FA can be reset for your account.
