Assess the protection requirement with AI – rate damage scenarios automatically
In preeco | data protection the AI assesses the protection requirement of a system or processing activity: via „AI actions → Assess protection requirement" it rates every damage scenario per protection goal (confidentiality, integrity, availability) and applies the classification automatically. The overall protection requirement is derived by the maximum principle and cumulation; an existing assessment is overwritten. This requires an active AI integration and the right to use the AI function.
The protection requirement shows how worthy of protection an information object is. In preeco | data protection it is rated via damage scenarios per protection goal – and the AI can prepare this assessment for you.
1. Where to find the protection requirement:
The AI assessment is available in the „Protection requirement" tab on the detail pages of processing activities, data processing systems / assets, and data-processor processing activities.
2. Start the assessment:
In the „Damage scenarios" section open the „AI actions" menu and choose „Assess protection requirement". Optionally add notes – e.g. particular risks or conditions – and confirm with „Yes, assess protection requirement". The data is sent to your configured AI integration.
3. Result:
For every active damage scenario the AI rates the protection goals confidentiality, integrity and availability and adds a short justification per scenario. The classification is applied automatically; an existing assessment is overwritten.
4. Overall protection requirement:
From the damage-scenario matrix preeco | data protection derives the overall protection requirement (Normal, High or Very high) using the maximum principle and the cumulation effect. You review the result and adjust individual classifications manually if needed – the final assessment stays with you.
Requirements:
The AI actions become available as soon as an AI provider is configured in the settings under „Integrations" and users hold the right to use the AI function. You configure the underlying methodology – active damage scenarios and protection goals – under „Settings → Protection requirement".
Note: As with the other AI actions in preeco | data protection (e.g. for processing activities, rule sets, data protection impact assessments or TOMs), the AI supports your preparatory work – the professional responsibility for the classification stays with you and your team.
