Deriving a measure from a data breach
From a documented data breach, a permanent technical and organizational measure (TOM) can be derived directly in preeco | data protection – automatically linked to the incident and stored in an audit-proof manner in the central TOM register.
This tutorial shows step by step how to derive a technical and organizational measure from a documented incident:
1. Open the incident and switch to edit mode.
2. Under „Planned measures“ open the desired measure.
3. In the „Actions“ menu, select the entry „Derive measure from TOM“.
4. Assign a name and select the appropriate category.
5. With „Apply“, the measure is created in the central TOM register and automatically linked to the incident.
This way, it remains traceable in the audit at any time from which incident a measure originated.
