Open the asset detail view – tabs and protection requirements

The detail view of an asset shows all master data, protective measures and sublists of an entry in your system landscape — and it is where you determine the protection requirements, the central control characteristic of your ISMS.

Prerequisites

• Your team has a license for information security (ISMS).
• You have permission to view assets (assets) and access to the associated organization.
• To edit, release or delete, you additionally need the corresponding permission in each case.

Open the detail view

1. Open the “System landscape → Assets” overview.
2. In the table, click anywhere in the line to open the detail view.
3. Check the breadcrumb navigation to see which view the entry is opened in: an entry opened as an asset shows the path “[Team] › [Team] › System landscape › Assets › [Designation]”. The privacy view shows “Data processing systems › [Designation]” at this point instead.

Tabs of the detail view

Above the contents you will find the following tabs, in this order: “Contents”, “Protection requirements”, “Activities”, “Files”, “Tasks”, “Revisions”, “Relationships”, “Comments”, “Checklists”, “Surveys” and “Risk analyses”.

Compared to the privacy view, the asset view additionally contains the “Protection requirements” tab. There you determine the asset’s protection requirements for “Confidentiality”, “Integrity” and “Availability”. As long as no classification has been made, the tab shows the note “Not rated”.

Special features of the asset view

• Same contents, different view: the sections of the “Contents” tab, all sublists — “Data fields”, “Users”, “Roles”, “Clients” and “Administration and management” — and all actions are identical to the detail view of a data processing system.
• Back to the correct overview: from the asset view, the breadcrumb navigation leads back to the “Assets” overview, not to “Data processing systems”.
• One entry, multiple views: if the asset is also relevant to data protection, the same data record appears in the “Data processing systems” module as well; if it contains AI components, additionally as an “AI system”. Changes you make here are visible in every view, because it is the same data record.
• Protection requirements as a control characteristic: the determined protection requirements are available in the “Assets” overview as a separate column and as a filter — so you can prioritise measures and risk analyses along your most sensitive assets.

When you edit, release, archive or delete an asset, the page behaves exactly like the detail view of a data processing system: the action is logged in the activity history, linked contacts and inheritance information are updated, a revision is created upon release, and the next follow-up is calculated.
