License restrictions on access rights in preeco | data protection

If an entire module or a function is missing in preeco | data protection, this is usually due to the booked license scope and not to the user group rights. Under Settings → Billing → Contract, the Functions field shows which components are enabled; if the module exists but is not visible to individual people, check the rights of the respective user group under User groups and rights. You can conveniently book additional modules via Request contract amendment.

Not everyone sees all modules and functions in preeco | data protection. Whether an area is available depends not only on the rights of the user group, but also on the booked license scope of your team. Both levers work independently of each other: the license scope determines which functions and specialist modules are enabled at all; the user group determines who may read, edit or create within those functions.

Module missing completely – cause: license scope

If an entire application or a complete module is missing – for example Training courses, the REST API, information security (ISMS), the AI Act or individual views of the system landscape (Assets, Data processing systems, AI systems) – this cannot be fixed via the user group rights. These areas are only available with the corresponding license scope; extending the user rights does not lift this restriction.

Checking the license scope

  1. Open the Settings and select the entry Billing.
  2. In the Contract section you see the booked Software edition as well as the Functions field.
  3. The Functions field lists all currently enabled function components – for example Data protection - Basic functions, Data protection - Advanced features, Training courses, Contract management, REST API or Priority feature requests. This tells you whether the desired module has been booked.
  4. In addition, the section shows the Payment frequency, the Contract term and the Price per year.

Note: Only administrators with the corresponding access can see the billing and therefore the license scope.

Module available but not visible – check the user group

If the module is enabled but individual users still cannot see or use it, the cause lies with the user group. Open Settings → User groups and rights, select the role of the person concerned and check under Functions whether the rights Show in menu, Read or Edit are set for the respective module.

Extending the license scope

If you need a module that is not included in the current license scope, request the extension directly from the application: in the Contract section, click Request contract amendment. The provider's request form (preeco.de) opens, in which your current contract data is already filled in automatically.
