How can I adjust the data protection officer (DPO) for an organization that does not have a DPO?

You can see the DPO assignment of an organization under Settings > Organizations in the "Officers and legal information → Data protection officer" section. Data protection officers are maintained and assigned under Settings > Data protection officers, where you define the type for each organization (for example "Person responsible for data protection within the company" or "External data protection officer"). This also allows organizations without a classic DPO to be mapped correctly.

If an organization does not have a data protection officer (DPO) or the DPO is no longer active for the organization, you adjust this as an administrator under Settings > Organizations. Open the organization concerned; in the Officers and legal information → Data protection officer section you can see the current assignment including the type of data protection officer.

The data protection officers themselves and their assignments are maintained under Settings > Data protection officers. When you create or edit a DPO, you assign the organizations under Assignment(s) and select the type – for example "Person responsible for data protection within the company" or "External data protection officer".

This way you can also correctly map the situation in which an internally appointed person responsible for data protection is in charge of an organization instead of a designated DPO.
