Can the data protection officer's phone number be disabled as a non-mandatory field in preeco | data protection?
The phone number of the data protection officer is currently defined as a mandatory field in preeco | data protection and cannot be disabled as an optional field. The existing display setting only applies to the name and position of the officer, not to the phone number. A corresponding configuration option is currently not planned.
Context
The phone number of the data protection officer (DPO) is currently stored as a mandatory field in the contact details. It is occasionally asked whether this field can be disabled as non-mandatory – for example because telephone availability is not necessarily maintained everywhere.
Solution
There is currently no option to configure the data protection officer's phone number as an optional field. The field remains mandatory. The existing setting for displaying the data protection officer in the document applies exclusively to the name and position of the officer and has no effect on the mandatory "Phone" field.
